This agritourism farmhouse in Apulia, Li Foggi, is found at Gallipoli, in the province of Lecce in South Italy and is a great resting place for travellers to the heart of Salento and Puglia in the extreme southeast of Italy. To reach Li Foggi farmhouse Apulia, you drive down the so-called "tratturi" (roads specially dedicated for the use of farmers) of the Gallipolian countryside and come upon this unique building set amidst a so-called "desert" but, which in fact is filled with the perfumes and aromatic scents of the natural vegetation and herbs that grow here, and the warm winds of the sirocco which blow the scents of the Ionian sea here. The 5th century farmhouse of Li Foggi appears like a mirage and infact it is situated in an area protected by the WWF, and is an oasis only 800m from the sea and around 40km from Lecce. Visitors staying at Li Foggi are soon immersed in this most relaxing of corners of Italy. There is a wonderful mix of the natural and the manmade which come together in the refined atmosphere of the farmhouse; stone and linen, wood and worked iron are married together to create a refuge from where you can discover all the details in the building that tell the history of the civilisation around here. The farmhouse is around 70m2 and arranged on 2 floors with spacious private terraces and the apartments offer a discrete luxury rarely found. All the apartments have mountain bikes for easy access to the local beach or to nearby Gallipoli. The farmhouse is open from March - December and is able to accommodate the short stay visitor as well as the longer-term holidaymaker. |
