In the heart of the countryside of Puglia, Italy is the Villa Nike guesthouse offering bed and breakfast accommodation with the service and hospitality of a grand hotel. The proximity of two coasts, and its nearness to the provincial capital of Lecce, makes this an ideal spot to stop and relax. From here you can enjoy the historical baroque architecture of Lecce and the various water sports on offer. The Nike bed and breakfast is found near the town of Melendugno, which has about 9000 inhabitants. It is about 19 km from Lecce, 50 km from the airport at Brindisi and 1 km from the Adriatic coast, or more precisely the holiday resort of San Foca, and around 15 km from the delightful historical port of Otranto. The Villa Nike is a beautiful villa, built in the Mediterranean style and has about 2,500 m2 of grounds, which have been completely renovated and replanted with typical plants of the area and an orchard. There is ample space for guest parking. It has 5 bedrooms, each are 4-bedded (a double and bunk beds) and all have a TV. Two of the rooms are en-suite and there are 2 further communal bathrooms for the other 3 bedrooms. Linen is changed weekly, and breakfast is of typical Italian style. Breakfast can be taken inside or outside under a traditional tiled wooden roof and there is also a solarium with sun beds and deckchairs. There are ample chairs and tables dotted amongst the trees in the gardens for guests to relax in the shade during the heat of the day, and it is possible to have the use of the barbecue and grill near the kitchen should you wish. Bicycles are also available to hire. |
